Gerard joined the firm in 2007 and was introduced as Partner in 2010. He is Partner in charge of the firm's Belfast Office.

Gerard is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and qualified with Arthur Andersen in Dublin. After spending time leading and managing external statutory audits in private sector companies, Gerard worked in a number of roles in the Northern Ireland public sector, most recently as Deputy Director of Finance in a hospital and community trust.

Gerard has close to 15 years' experience advising businesses and individuals across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Great Britain. His portfolio of audit and advisory clients span many sectors including engineering, retail, car dealerships, professional practice, IT and healthcare. He manages all aspects of his client's tax affairs identifying optimum tax strategies for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders/individuals.

Gerard is a qualified Insolvency Practitioner and is one of the firm's lead advisors in the Business Recovery and Insolvency division. He regularly advises company directors, business owners and individuals on options available to them in times of financial pressure, adopting a practical approach to working through difficulties, whatever the situation. He has built up strong working relationships with senior decision makers in the country's main banks and can quickly assess when restructuring and work-out is a viable option.

He also leads the firm's NAMA advisory teams.
