Relevant Experience
Des has over 20 years experience in all aspects of taxation. He has vast commercial and financial experience and uses this to identify areas of tax planning required for individuals and companies.

Des qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 with Deloitte & Touche in Belfast. Post qualification Des worked as financial controller with Lifestyle Sports (1990-1994) before setting up his own practice.

Des commenced trading as D A Kelly & Co. in 1994 following his acquisition of the business of Casey and Associates. He rapidly built a reputation for sound business advice and developed the practice from an initial staff base of two to fifteen prior to merger with J J Cavanagh & Co in January 2003. In that time he also opened an office in Magherafelt.

Within the firm, Des is responsible for the area's of audit, accountancy and corporate services. He is particularly experienced in the area of specialist business advice such as business acquisition and disposals. Other areas of expertise include the construction and manufacturing sectors and review and advice on the selection of computer systems.   He has a particular emphasis on adding value to the services offered to clients and ensuring a value for money service is given.
