Fake Companies House emails - Be Aware!

We have been made aware of suspicious emails being sent that claim to be from Companies House however, they are not official emails.

The example we have been made aware of came from a .co.uk email address, however all emails from government bodies will have a .gov.uk email address.

The gov.uk website advises that some of these fake emails may have an attachment, such as a Word document and they may also ask you to enter an authorisation code.  The advice is DO NOT open any attachments.  Instead forward any suspicious emails to phishing@companieshouse.gov.uk

You can also report any suspicions to Action Fraud, the national fraud and Cyber Crime reporting centre for the police.
