Associate - Restructuring

With supervision from Directors, case managers and other senior staff, the successful candidate will carry out mix of pre and post appointment formal insolvency work including but not limited to; advising individuals, businesses and corporate entities in financial distress in respect of the options available to themThey will support the management of a portfolio of cases in respect of Bankruptcy estates, Individual & Company Voluntary Arrangements, Liquidations and Administrations. 

 

In respect of formal insolvency appointments, you will be required to carry out investigations to help identify potential asset realisations and recoveries, to include asset tracing exercises, analysis and interrogation of financial records, documentation and information provided.  

You will work closely with legal counsel where litigation is being contemplated or instigated, and can therefore expect to experience exposure to a wide range of other professionals and stakeholders. 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and referrers through delivery of a high-quality service, effective case progression and regular communication to all stakeholders. 

Case Management to include data processing, reviewing financial information and producing reports. 

Liaising with solicitors and creditors where required to progress and manage cases 

Facilitating regular, effective client/stakeholder meetings, with an ability to always demonstrate empathy & professionalism.  

Procedural matters such as filing, reporting, document preparation and statutory compliance. 

Proactively identifying and addressing risks or issues, and subsequently addressing these through an agreed action plan   

Actively identify and propose business development opportunities for the team to explore.  

Engage in day-to-day communication with creditors, charge holders and banks, insolvency practitioners, instructing agents and solicitors. 

 

Criteria 

Qualified Chartered Accountant with 1 year PQ experience, desirable but not essential 

Experience in a similar fast paced environment, dealing with a range of stakeholders, desirable but not essential  

Experience of management of portfolio of cases, desirable but not essential 

Experience in the use of MS Office 

Excellent Communication and presentation skills 

Strong organisational and time management skills
