POST:                    Management Accountant

LOCATION:           Aughnacloy, County Tyrone

SALARY:                £35,000 - £45,000 Per Annum (*Placement on salary scale will depend on level of experience)

JOB OVERVIEW:

CavanaghKelly are proud to be working with a local supermarket based in Aughnacloy, County Tyrone to recruit a Management Accountant to join their busy team on a full/part time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate must have the ability to drive the use of technology and new processes through the business – developing and managing financial systems. Our client offers a very competitive and attractive remuneration package. *This role is not limited by qualification and will suit both a qualified accountant / part qualified or qualified by experience accountant with the relevant skills (refer to criteria).

THE ROLE:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and introduction of efficiencies via automation of same.
  • Preparation and analysis of daily, weekly and monthly reports including OPR reports, credit/retro reports, wastage reports and stock analysis
  • Highlight areas of concern and opportunities and develop strategies to develop the business
  • Management and reporting of other business interests
  • Preparation of monthly payroll
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Process purchase orders, invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable, including preparation of BACS schedule
  • Oversee cash handling office
  • Liaise with external accountant in the preparation of annual accounts
  • Undertake any ad-hoc financial administerial duties as required

THE CRITERIA:

1(A):  Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 2 year’s previous experience in a similar role

OR

1(B):  Be Part Qualified (and/or working towards full accreditation) with 5+ years’ previous experience working in the retail sector

2:       Experience of preparing financial statements and management accounts for the retail sector

THE PERSON:

  • Commercially minded
  • Diligent with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Accounting Software and MS office packages with a strong proficiency in Excel
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • To be a goal and results-oriented individual with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task
