We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, client focussed and ambitious person to work as part of our GRC team to help deliver and further develop our growing internal audit function.
This varied and exciting role will involve working closely with our GRC Partner and Senior Manager to deliver and develop our internal audit service to a range of clients in the public sector.
The Role
Delivering our internal audit service
- Prepare strategic internal audit plans.
- Liaise with clients to schedule internal audit engagements.
- Draft terms of reference for individual engagements.
- Oversee and carry out internal audit fieldwork.
- Discuss and agree findings with clients.
- Draft internal audit reports for review by the Senior Manager.
- Where appropriate, attend Audit Committee meetings.
Developing our internal audit service
- Supervise, train, and develop junior Internal Audit staff.
- Proactively seek opportunities to develop for our internal audit service.
- Draft tenders for potential internal audit engagements.
The Person
- Ability to work independently, prioritise and work within set deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (including report writing) with the ability to effectively relay information.
- Inquisitive, ambitious, insightful and willing to learn and develop personal.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Internal Auditor.
Desirable
- Experience of carrying out internal audit work
- Knowledge of risk based auditing and International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) for internal audit.
