Do you have your EORI number?

HMRC have stated they are auto-enrolling all possible VAT-registered businesses who trade with EU for a UK EORI number.

An EORI number is needed to move goods into or out of the EU (including UK).  If you do not have one, there is the possibility you may experience increased costs and delays. For example, if HMRC cannot clear your goods there may be storage.  Further details are available via gov.uk

Approximately 88,700 businesses will be automatically assigned a UK EORI number.  HMRC are writing to those businesses to let them know the UK EORI number they have been assigned and the next steps they need to take to be fully prepared.

HMRC are strongly recommending that all other businesses that trade with the EU act now and first get a UK EORI number. Futher information is available from gov.uk
