Grants and Funding Opportunities

Resource Efficiency Capital Grant

Invest NI clients are being offered up to 40% (capped at £40,000 per project) towards the cost of equipment that will help them achieve financial savings in their use / consumption of water and materials.

The scheme is due to operate through a series of calls from proposlas through 2016 - September 2018.

The current call for applications is open until Friday 13 May.

Energy Efficiency Loan Fund

The Carbon Trust, with funds provided by Invest NI, are offering interest free, unsecured loans to businesses across Northern Ireland ranging from £3,000 to £400,000 to implement energy efficiency or renewable energy projects.

Eligibility criteria includes:

  • Private sector business in Northern Ireland
  • Trading for the minimum period (Limited Company 12 Months, Unincorproated 36 Months)
  • Acceptable credit history
  • Project replaces existing equipment and makes on-site fossil fuel savings
  • Business operates in a permissible sector under de minimis state aid regulation and has not exceeded current limits*

Urban Development Grant Scheme

The Department for Social Development is currently taking applications for Urban Development Grants (UDG) for 2016 / 2017.

The UDG scheme offers discretionary grants to help urban areas in Northern Ireland. The grants areDSD Urban Development Grant CavanaghKelly offered so that land and buildings which are vacant, derelict or underused can be developed and brought back into use.

The Department for Social Development (DSD) website provides further details of a range of project types that may attract UDG such:

  • inner / middle city housing
  • retail
  • commercial
  • light industrial

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 13 May 2016, 5.00pm

Basic Payment Scheme - Deadline 16 May 2016

Basic Payment Scheme closes 16 May 2016 (midnight)

Note*: All Farmers applying for payment under the Basic Payment Scheme will have to comply with greening requirements on all the eligible agricultural land on their holding and in return will receive a Greening Payment calculated as a percentage of the total value of the Basic Payment Scheme entitlements they activate each year.
